1. HOW FISH ORDERS WORK
For those new to ordering, here’s how it works:
Every week, usually Monday, I send out a newsletter. I use the words "newsletter” very loosely. Sometimes, it’s a nice informational piece about what we are doing here on the farm or a little glimpse of our family. Often, its a simple email that says, “here’s the list” because we’re just too busy to get to much else!
You’ll have until noon Wednesday each week to get your order in. We receive the fish early Friday morning and get to work. We cut, portion, wrap and assemble everyone’s orders. Once finished, you’ll receive a text that it’s ready for pick up. It’s wrapped in butcher paper and an additional plastic bag. It’s suitable for freezing in that format.
It’s really important you give us your cell number when ordering. It’s just Tim and I, and while it might sound dramatic, stopping to make land line phone calls, leave messages, look up emails, compose and send emails, etc., really slows us down. With your cell, I simply tell Siri to text you. I don’t need to stop cutting, wash my hands, touch a phone or computer…it really streamlines the process for us and speeds it up for everyone waiting for their texts.
You can pick up Friday or Saturday. If you’ve not picked up by Sunday, we will text a reminder and offer to freeze it for pick up at any time if you can’t make it that day.
The ordering page is always up. You can order at any time, just know it’s still that Friday pick up for fresh fish. Frozen items are really almost always in stock, so you can usually pick those up at any time. What’s always online is what we call our “regulars” and there’s usually around 30 different choices. These are items that reliably show up each week and have pretty consistent pricing. On Mondays, after checking pricing and availability, I’ll add specialty items.
Our ordering page is set up in categories. There’s a lot of items, so that may be helpful. If you click on HOME at the top of that page, it shows you everything we offer, in ABC order, which can be a bit cumbersome. All items will have descriptions, price and expected weight.
